Basic Royal Blue(Basic Blue 26) is blue power.Soluble in cold water, hot water are blue. Soluble in ethanol is blue. It is reddish brown in concentrated sulfuric acid, and turns from yellow to green to blue after dilution. It is olive green in concentrated nitric acid. Adding sodium hydroxide to its aqueous solution produces a dark reddish-brown precipitate; adding hydrochloric acid produces a blue precipitate.
