Description
Basic Rhodamine B is a basic dye, soluble in water and alcohol (a blue-red solution with strong fluorescence), soluble in water, ethanol, slightly soluble in acetone, chloroform, hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide solutions. In case of concentrated sulfuric acid, it is yellowish brown and has strong green fluorescence. When diluted, it turns bright red to bluish red and orange. The aqueous solution was heated with sodium hydroxide solution to form a rose-red fluff precipitate.
